What's the occasion?

I've encountered this question a number of times and I've used the same response. I guess some people view a kilt as some sort of costume, and expect there to be a reason for wearing it. I usually add that I wear it all the time. It's all part of the fun.

It was Friday, and he had long hair and was wearing a tartan kilt, short socks, and carrying a duffel bag.
So, that's possibly one more for the rolls of the kilted of Marquette.
