    Sorry I've been AWOL, family visits with not a computer in sight (made a nice change). Thanks for your replies guys...

    ...and thanks for the heads up Pete I'd actually seen that kilt on ebay, but thought the rise might be a bit over the top (no pun intended). But it is probably spot on, I guess I just have to decide if a military kilt is the right choice. Have fun in Loch Lomond, and remember your jumpers and waterproofs, winter is speedily approaching.

    Seems like a decent deal at Hector Russel M@A, has anyone had any dealings with them before?

    If you plan on wearing it w/ a PC or any other jacket waistcoat combination you might find the 2" rise works out better.

    Thanks O'Neille that helps me decide. I'll spend that bit extra and get a heavy weight dress kilt, as I'm unlikley to wear it except for at weddings and maybe an odd ceilidh, with a waistcoat & argyll jacket, well until the night gets going at least.

    Cheers lads, just a matter of biting the bullet and ordering one now.
