Wow Ron, I totally missed this entire thread, And it's in my section.
I like the look. I remember when you ordered your first kilts from me and we spoke on the phone and you were totally unsure if you could ever pull off a kilt.
Now your the poster boy for Tourism Arizona. Great outfit.
A because the question was asked, here are the specs on Ron's kilt.
Dress Model
9.38 yards
65%/35% Poly/Cotton
12 oz., 2/2 Twll
Maroon
The apron is 17" wide
There are 29 knife pleats
The Sett is 8"
Each pleat has a 1" reveal and a depth of 3.5"
Ron asked that there be no pockets and no Logo

So only reletively minor changes to a standard FK. When is somebody really challenge Ashton? I thought my desert camo with anti-kilt lifting/checking properties was something but it appears all my kilts have that.

Well I've given him a challenge to source enough x-marks tartan to build me a 4-yard box pleat.

Wellll, I never graduated; but I could have some serious fun with those threads since I still live here.

Ron, the hose look great: are they the claret or the brick red? I'm overdue for a Hawick hose fix...

Claret Lewis Hose I believe. Brick ones were with the Cameron Black and Red under the thread Red.
South Carolina...I vaguely recall huge liquor store called South of the Border where I used to stock up on Mescal....many years ago....think they had Tequila or Mescal with little plastic sombreros on the caps....

Oh goodness. That is THE quintessential tourist trap. I-95 just south of the North Carolina border. Anything they can do to separate you from your money is fair game there. Liquor store, amusement park, gift shop, dairy queen, you name it - they have it. It's like Wall Drug in South Dakota but tackier.

I like the jacket and kilt together but the hose seem to be a little off color to my eye and reds are less forgiving than most other colors. Even though I don't really like black hose I would probably go with black. Of course that is just my opinion it seems to look good to others though.
