First of all, thank you for your service and your bravery. Come home safely.
I'll be attending my company's Christmas party soon (kilted, of course) and we're being asked to bring items for the men & women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Any suggestions for those of us who plan to do that? I've heard that our boys over there are using Silly String in a most interesting, and lifesaving, manner. I guess it's sprayed into doorways and because it's so light, clings to trip wires tied to booby-traps thus making them visible. I might include a few cans of that and I'd encourage others to do the same since the Army will not issue it to the troops (for whatever reason).
I, for one, rest easier at night knowing that you are there defending our freedom, and you're winning!
Happy Holidays!

Hugh,
I'm right behind you bro...I'll be home for leave in January and will go End-of Mission late April...Have a safe return home and quit counting...This is my second tour and it goes by faster when you forget about it...Then again, waiting to wear the kilt is pretty exciting too.
Best Regards,
Chase

Hugh, come safe home!
I cannot help thinking that without you Americans, having during WWII, fought for us Europeans - and many, many of you having given your lives - Europe had been deemed to slavery and barbarity under a Nazi or Communist regime. I was born some months before the war ended. My country was occupied by the Germans and during my childhood my parents often told me about their fears for five years.
I grew up in freedom. And for that I’m very, very grateful. Only free men can wear what they want to – and a lot of other things.
Good luck – and thank you!

Now that's one of the best posts of the year.

Come home safe, and thanks for your service and the front line perspective of what is really happening over there.
