Bless you, F-H.B-T.C.A.G., for looking out for kilted men everywhere...
. . . Back to the guest list . . .
I will be there with a wonderful lady (from Clan MacLaren, wouldn't you know?) who accepted my offer to escort her for the evening. If her toes survive any of my so-called dancing, perhaps she will join in the redwood ramble the following day, as well.
Any readings are fine with me. Oration from notes, O.K. But any assignments requiring functioning memory brain circuits will be disappointed.
Would a delicious "limey" dessert be in order? (Helps prevent scurvy, eh?)

Recitations
Gryphonaire looks like he will be doing the Selkirk Grace
w2f, would you be willing to come up with The Immortal Memory ? (notes are certainly OK!)
Jake, would you like either Address of the Haggis or Toast to the Lassies? Whichever one you pick I will be happy to do the other.
Any takers for the Lassies Response? The F-H.C.A.G. is certainly happy to do it again but would be equally fine with letting someone else have the fun (plus she has a pretty challenging poem to open the Scotch tasting with)
Cheers
Jamie

Jamie, it's quite clear after last year that only one person among us can do the Address justice, and that person sir is you.
I'll have to think about whether I'm up to the task of the Toast to the Ladies. Of course if you want to write me a nifty poem like the one you wrote for the F.H.A.C.G.'s response last year, I'd be honored to recite it.
Best regards,
Jake

A short seven-mile drive to Ben Lomond (just past the highland games venue; really pretty in the daylight hours!) is a much cheaper Econolodge - $72 and up at internet user rates (who're the Scots here?)

Also, I will be happy to deliver some form of The Immortal Memory at the Supper.

w2f, you are down for the Immortal Memory
Jake, You get to toast the lassies. I'll see if I can either find or come up with something
The F-H.C.A.G. will provide a kind and gentle (for her) Lassies response as well as another poem for the scotch Tasting
I will repeat the Address of the Haggis unless someone else would really rather do it.
There are many other Burns' poems out there if anyone is interested in reciting.
Cheers
Jamie

Selkirk Grace
Sure enough.
I've even emerged long enough from lurkerland to post something vaguely coherent to that extent. Uh, what was I saying???

Just to reiterate what I have told a few of you,
Myself, the Significant Other and possibly the Little Celtic Dancer will be in attendance but I am not sure when we will arrive. I will have to work that day until 3pm
As a side note, my eyesight is getting better in my post-operative eye.
Looking forward to seeing all of you (and I'm bringing he still camera and the digital video cam for evidence!)
