Although I'm pretty sure you've already checked this out, the PC is for tux events, the Argyll is for everything else.
There are some threads on here that lead to off hire sites or waiter type jackets. Money and express shipping might work.
I'm noting a trend here, and it backs up my experience. Are jackets ever delivered on schedule? Should we always allow a month lead time on the delivery date? If these questions generate any discussion, maybe the mods can move the questions to a new thread.

It is your vacation.... wear the kilt with what ever nice shirt you have. The crusie I went on had a formal night that we were supposed to wear blacktie yux or a suit to dinner that evening. I hate ties.
I paid a lot for the cruise so I wore what I felt appropriate for a tropical setting. My best Hawiaan shirt and nice slacks. (pre kilt era)
I got lots of comments from other uncomfortable men in their tuxs.

I guess it depends on whether they are in stock? I ordered a tweed argyle back in early November, and it should arrive early January. But then, I never said I was in a hurry (and I'm not).

Right then if all else fails, you have tried hiring, begging, borrowing, creative tailoring with the father-in-law's best dinner jacket(tux) and anything else that a desperate kilt wearer may try.The first thing is to develop an extremely thick skin, become deaf and most important of all, a devil may care attitude.
Are you with me so far?It is a sure bet that most people on the cruise will know little about what SHOULD be worn with the kilt at a formal dinner. There are, when all said and done, dozens of questions on this website from kilt wearers wanting to know what to wear at such an event.Yes?
All you need is your kilt attire that you have got,the very best you can do,and then you need a white shirt, turn down collar, and a black crew neck pullover and a whole heap of confidence! As one of your admirals once said :"Damn the torpedoes ,full steam ahead!"It works,I know I have done it! OH and no bow tie just an open collar.Good luck!
