Mary,
Thank you so much for trusting me with your 16 oz Robertson tartan. The material was a beautiful tartan, imported from a Scottish mill.
I am pleased with the way it turned out. I am overjoyed that you are happy with it. I enjoyed making it for you.
Background:
Mary was willing to send her beloved tartan material to a stranger, well at least an xmarker anyway. Imagine her trepidation in sending to a newbie kiltmaker.
I rushed the order thru my shop (ok, no shop, but my wife did allow me to kilt in the dinning room) to get it to her for Christmas. All went well until Mary tried the kilt on. If seems the kiltmaker, in the Christmas rush, failed to open the button hole in the lining
. Imagine my embarrassment!
Of course, I would have gladly fixed it for her and asked her send it back. We were both concerned about sending back and forth with the holiday season upon us. We decided that it might be best if she opens the belt hole up herself. She has started her own kilt and was willing to try. I am sure she did a great job, the kilt fits very well. Even better with the hole open for the under apron strap
.
Thank you All,
Wallace Catanach
P.S. Did you know that Mary does leather work?
