I like your sporran, what is the cantle made of?
I can't tell if it brass or leather
I'm an 18th century guy born into the 20th century and have been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

The cantle is brass and it's the old-style, functional type. The pouch is made by Janet Eagleton, but I think the cantle has been recycled. I think this type of cantle may have been MOD-issue for officers before the cheaper, leather sporran came along.

If anyone has info about this style I'd love to hear about it. The catch needs to be replaced and I'm not quite sure where to start.

    Cordially,
    David
