I really meant evening bar wear, nothing formal, like when one goes out to a restaurant and ends up bar hopping into the evening. Guess I could carry an extra set of black boots to go with the rest of my black kit? So I guess at say 1800 hours anyone wearing light brown or tan should switch to their evening attire?
Not trying to be a smart , this is all new to me and I just want to get it right. Being in the Army for 20+ years I am kind of used to wearing limited civilian clothing and I was fortunate enough to have a incredible grandfather to raise me correctly when it came to clothes and sensible fashion, now I am relying on everyone here to guide me.
Thanks.
You are in Omaha NE, are you not? And you're worried about switching from brown day leather to black evening leather while on a casual night on the town? While there are some here that might applaud your concern for "correctness," I submit to you Sir, that truly there is no Kilt Police, and if there were, they don't go patrolling bars in Nebraska after sundown.
Sure, when you're are going for formal look (e.g. Prince Charlie jacket etc.) you want the proper accessories, but I think it would be overdoing it to carry both brown and black accessories, out of concern over some "witching hour." (Unless of course you are accompanied by your personal manservant, whose job it is to attend to such things. ) Really, unless your going to be attending a dressy Scottish event, just wear what looks good, and don't sweat it.
Best regards,
Jake

Not in Nebraska!
OK, now I am really going to step on my pipes! I am not in Omaha, bad enough that the Army has dragged me to Kansas, but Nebraska, that’s even worse. Not your fault, I had better update my profile to let everyone know where I presently hang my hat.
I liked your reply, and I realize the kilt police don't parole the Kansas / Nebraska area that much, and I bet I was the only person wearing a kilt in Manhattan Kansas last weekend.
