They look fine to me - I don't have a leatherneck kilt but wear boots with my kilts sometimes.

I wear my black work boots with my kilts all the time. I wouldn't wear my workboots to an El Jebel Shrine charity dinner, but for daily wear, they look fine. Those combat boots seem actually very appropriate to a Leatherneck in my mind.

And by the way- we here at X Marks The Scot have no imagination. We require pictures.

No problem when I first started looking for ghillie brogues, the woman who owned the store I frequented said that foot wear was one place the kilt was pretty open. In fact, she specifically mentioned that boots were OK. Actual words were "most people your age wear boots".

I've seen loads of people wearing kilts with books in Scotland.

So, I have been wearing the kilt for 24 years, but only recently started wearing ghillie brogues. Normally, I wore thick shoes or boots.

Now, Sandals cause me a bit of a problem.

Unless I'm dressing up, I wear boots. Period, end of sentence. I think boots look great with a kilt... hose up, hose down, or with regular socks... with a t-shirt or a polo or a sweater... Just wear the kilt and your boots, and wear them with pride.

Depends on who you ask. Some people will think that you dress like a kid when wearing a kilt with those boots. However, I think they will look awesome with the leatherneck kilts.
