If all you are doing is ironing out the occasional wrinkle from your kilt, that's easy enough to do with a standard iron, wool setting, high steam. Lay the kilt out on your ironing board, and use the creases already pressed into the pleats as your guide. Really no magic trick to it.

But use a damp pressing cloth between the wool and the iron, or you risk shining up the wool.
