The Edinburgh Old Town Weaving Company
Hi everyone
We thought you might be interested in the new video we've just uploaded to the channel.
Howie Nicholsby of 21st Century Kilts presents a tour of Geoffrey (Tailor) Kiltmaker's Edinburgh Old Town Weaving Company, at the top of the Royal Mile, right by Edinburgh Castle. Over 200 clan and family tartans are woven at the only working weaving mill left in the city and Howie tells us all about how it all works.
Find the video here:

And there'll be more from Howie & family later this week.
Enjoy!

Very enjoyable and informative!
Of course, in the interests of fairness and balance, I hope you offer Gold Bros the same facility to show their weaving shops.

Trefor, that is quite the funniest comment I have ever known you to make. Well done!
Take care,
Ham.

Thank you for bringing that to the attention of our membership - I was about to but you beat me to it!
You have used Howie several times in the past year or so. He is such a 'natural' in front of the camera, and he really knows his subject(s). An excellent choice!
Take care,
Ham.
(PS: I am still waiting for the call from your camera crew! Now the BBC are after me - a few days ago, I was contacted by one of their producers who, after a lengthy phone conversation, has gone off to plan a 30 minute documentary on my Kilt Kollection!!!)

Thanks Hamish, I do my best! Glad you noticed the subtle irony.

Alas very brief it was some way into the video before you saw his kilt.

Thanks for that one. I also had to go back and watch the two others featuring Howie.
BTW you also might want to check the Central News episode for 17 March. I think you have the wrong copy in there.

very interesting videos. It was nice to be able to actually see some of the process of weaving a tartan. I'll bet that is a fun place to visit and have a look around.
