I've inherited a Black Watch heavy wool kilt and hair sporran. They have no labels but a similar kilt is identified as Black Watch 029 on ebay. They both are at least 90 years old. They may have been purchased in Scotland by my step grandmother. She was originally from the Glasgow area. The sporran is black hair with 3 white tassels.
What is the value of this kilt and sporran in good condition (it has a few small moth holes?

Hello and a warm from Boston, Massachusetts The best value of any kilt is being worn by its owner. If it fits. The Black Watch tartan is the most woven, most worn, most produced there is. That said, take good care of it. If it is a real hand sewn 100% wool, made in Scotland, by a known kilt maker, then it will have some provenance, that will garner a particular interest.

Well pictures always help to identify quality of the material as well as nobody will likely purchase anything without seeing it first. Take multiple pictures of it. You'll need photos from the front, the back, depth of the pleats, and any other extra photos are always welcome. You'll also need to find the length, and waist size for anyone to even consider purchasing it. The weight of the wool is also good. Please also provide pictures of the sporran as well.
Please provide these details prior to any sale. It'll make it much easier for you and whoever might wish to purchase it.

good luck and welcome to xmarksthescot!

While not found in your average garage sale, the items are not that uncommon so the condition will really determine the value.

 And of course
