Having someone lift my kilt doesn't offend me. Offend is a very stong word! One definition used commonly is "To cause displeasure, anger, resentment, or wounded feelings"

I honestly don't see it as that big of a deal! While I don't seek out the kilt lift, I also don't think that it is the end of the world if some low-life wants to salve his or her curriosity. A kilt check would not cause displeasure, maybe a small amount of irritation. It does not cause anger, more like amusement. It does not cause resentment, I don't hold grudges for a small act like this, and finally it does not cause wounded feelings.

I think the whole world needs to be a little more thick skinned and not be so quick to accept offence. A kilt check will only hurt me if I allow it to.

Casey, I voted "sometimes". In my experience I've had kilt-lifters who fall into one of two categories - friends masquerading as idiots or people who lift a few inches to get a reaction. Neither bother me until the idiots start to get too persistent. I'd get offended if someone lifted it in front of others, embarrassing or offending the observers.

Oh, and another category is drugged up dogs. They don't offend me because they know not what they do.
