NOTE: I think this discussion can be very productive and educational... I'm not attacking anyone, simply extending the debate in the spirit of this forum...

I agree whole-heartedly that society needs to be a bit more thick skinned in general. I let most things roll off my back. It's the DOUBLE STANDARD that gets me. It's the belief that "I can inspect someone else's privates b/c I want to" that gets me.

When it comes to your (the universal "you", not James MacMillan specifically ) body and your beliefs and your "little world", anything goes. Have a good time whatever your sexuality, color, race, creed, etc... When it comes to MY personal space, you need permission.

"What gives you the right?" is the question I think to myself.

Society needs to be more thick skinned and have a laugh at themselves, but also needs a sense of morality. This isn't about me being thick skinned, it's about someone ELSE being immoral and alienating people by trying to inspect their privates without permision.

Perhaps another question for another poll: Are you offended if someone ASKS you what you're wearing under your kilt? My answer: No. It gets "very old very quickly", but I'm not offended.
