I'm opening back this old Thread to reveal to the World that patience did it's job : I just got from e-bay 8 yards (26"wide) of 13-14 oz. worsted wool, MacKinnon Red , left over from Peter MacArthur of Hamilton Mills, for a total sum of 59 Pounds.

I'm in total bliss ! Thank you Barb. Thank you Turpin.

I have seen this sellers store and considered buying some material.
Seeing the quality up close may sway me.

This seller is sound. I had two lengths from him recently (not sure what I'll do with them, but that's my problem). Quality was excellent.

I'm surprised you are talking about a seller. I always thought Messrs Peter MacArthur of Hamilton referred to an ancient closed down Mill.
The Tartan finder mentions this name for a Couper Family tartan with the date : 1886 .
Matt, if you read this, I'm sure you could clear this up for us. Thank You.

Peter MacArthur of Hamilton closed their factory some while ago. So I think the e-bay seller must have bought left over stock. The quality is certainly very good.
