    Hey, there...

My novitiate choir director (a Sister from Iowa who was living in CT getting a doctorate in "voice") told me that I was a "perfect contralto", whatever that means?! Perhaps you can explain this to me, Kevin?

The only thing I know is that I don't fit in well with most motherhouse singing (way TOO high for me!), and that I usually describe my range as "low, lower, and even still lower"! I've had ladies at Church tell me that their husbands like to come to Church when I read because "you have a sexy voice!"! Oh, my! What a thing to tell a nun in Church!

When it comes to singing, I fit in much better with the male chorus, and usually just say, "You don't want me to sing; your ears will bleed!"!

This is me too! Bring on the respect for women like Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls)

Amen to lovin the deep voices too. I don't understand why women like the tenors so much! Guys that can sing as high as me are just offensive.

I did not vote, but I would say I am a Tenor .... You need to stand ten-or so feet away if I am singing, unless you are keen to loose your lunch.
