Have you tried boxer briefs? They have the basic shape of boxers, but are made of the more flexible material of briefs. I wear some really loose ones, and they never bother me. The short legged ones are especially good, but the local store doesn't carry them in black or other dark colors.

In fact, the last time I went clothes shopping I saw quite a few interesting new designs for underwear which were meant to alleviate the discomfort. Boxer briefs are cheaper though. And a few seemed to blur the line between men's and women's underwear.

I'm with you on this. The primary purpose of underwear is to provide a small, cheap, easily washable barrier between the nastier parts of your body and the larger, more valuable items you use to cover them. Protection from zippers, frostbite and felony charges is just a bonus.

Back on the original topic, I do tend to get a bit cheeky (no pun intended) when people ask about the contents of the kilt, but lately I find I have been giving more straightforward answers. Typically I do this when the topic is raised in a more respectful way, which usually means they are asking about the myth itself or about people who ask the question.

However, on easter, when my brother's girlfriend relayed the question from her mom, and informed me that she had already told her the good girls vs. bad girls line, I took the opportunity to share the one about the temperature of the hands. A few minutes later I heard laughter and the indignant words "Some things should not be passed on" coming from the kitchen.

So yeah, I'm still a trouble maker.
