Yah, that question comes up a lot. The answer is found under the FAQs which are somewhat hidden under the quick links. Many other useful forum "terms of art" there too.

A 'TANK' is defined as an eight-yard, wool, hand-sewn, traditional kilt. ie., "It's built like a tank." (coined by Jimmy Carbomb c.2005)
