Berserk goes to D.C.
Well, now its official. The powers that be are letting me loose for six weeks on Capitol Hill.
In all seriousness, I have been offered an internship on Capitol Hill. Starting the first week of June, I will be interning for 6 weeks in an office in D.C. I am uber excited. I have never been to D.C. but have always yearned to see our nations Capital.
Before anyone starts to make this political, this was just an informative post about where I will be in the next few months, lets leave it at that please.

Congratulations! Hope you enjoy it.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Washington, D. C. is one of my favorite cities. I hope that you are not so busy with your internship that you don't have time to enjoy all that there is to see and do in the nation's capitol. Congratulations.
Regards,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Well, I will be working in the Capitol building so I wont need to do any sight seeing there. But I do realize that there is MUCH MUCH more to see.
While I am thinking about it, would all the rabble that has been to D.C. help me compile a list of "must sees." I know I want to visit the Smithsonian and several monuments for sure.
I am planning to take a few kilts with me. I hope to make a bunch of new acquaintances and it would be neat to meets some of the rabble in that area.

I was working at the Russell office building last week. Welcome to DC. If you have chance, tune in 88.5 WAMU. NPR station. Lots of DC information and news. I don't know if you can tell, but the badge is my kilt pin and it is from a retired DC policeman. my roots are 5 generations deep in DC without an immigrant.

Congratulations!
There is no better opportunity to learn about the operation of our government than a short stint in the offices of Capital Hill. The internship will also give you an opportunity to see many facets of the nations people, as you will interact with many representatives and senators. You will also learn a lot more about your fellow residents of MO than you probably could even guess.

Congratulations on your internship. All politics aside, no one can deny that that is a great opportunity. As far as something to do in DC, whenever I've thought about going, the thing that has stuck out foremost in my mind is the Lincoln Memorial. If I ever get the chance to go, that's number one on my list.
