The Kirk'n of the Tartan or blessing of the tartan was invented in America and rather amazes the Scots who come from over the sea and attend one, All clans are called into the service, led by a piper. A prayer is said, then its clan comes forward with their tartan banner, they are blessed and the return to the side of, in our case the music tent, then a Flowers of the Forest rememberance is performed, then a hymn. a small sermon on healing using the idea of the flowers of the forest, another hymn, then a blessing of the general audience and then the last hymn and done. I agree adaptability is very important, especially in these very rough times. May peace be with you, Annie Macpherson
