My father in law goes by the name TV. His given name is Tommy.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
Here's an update: The surgery went well. It was actually the top of his femur that was broken, not his hip. He now has a titanium rod in his femur that will set off metal detectors, get torn out by an MRI machine, and all sorts of fun stuff like that.
The good news is that the recovery time for this particular procedure is alot faster than we had thought. He will be back on his feet within a day or two, and he'll be done with physical therapy/rehab within a month.
