    My pattern does very much resemble a modified moccasin, though mine came about by trial & errors.

    I used elkskin, which is unusually strong and soft as deerskin. Also - I stitched a sole and heel onto the bottom. More for modern day comfort and avoiding bruises from stepping on pebbles.

    Lemme know if'n you'd like a pattern copy.
