Those are very nice, but with all due respect they resemble nothing from history, except perhaps Roman caligae, with their carefully cut-out, multiple tabs.
The true Highland moccasins, or cuarans, were simple affairs sewn up from raw hide, from deer or cattle, often with the hair left on. "Ghillie brogues" are a modern "reenactorism" based upon the light shoes worn by Highland and Irish dancers....
