    Ron,

From the photos I honestly cannot tell the difference. The semi-traditional photo gives a bit more representation of the pleating since your left leg is fairly extended. To really see the difference you would need a photo that reveals more of the differences. Beautiful tartan BTW.

    You're right of course Darrell,

A dark colored tartan, pleated to the sett, photographed in the shadows, by a small digital camera who's mind is fried by the tartan lines...

For my jumbo size kilts the Casual model has 15 pleats, 2" deep, with a 1 1/2" reveal for this tartan.

    The Semi-traditional model has 23 pleats, 2" deep, with a 1" reveal.

Obviously, those numbers depend on the tartan pattern and how the kilt is pleated. But for these two models in the same tartan I think it gives you some idea of the difference between the two.

Of course you also get leather straps on the Semi-trad.

    Ron,

I'm sure there is a significant difference. Not that there is anything wrong with the casual. It is, after all a casual kilt, but a top-notch one. I have 2 USAK casuals and love them both. I have two semi-traditionals on order and really looking forward to getting them.
