I have huge trouble getting socks wide enough in the calf and big enough in the foot but no more as my Mum is knitting me a pair of cream hose and my aunt knew someone who knitted hose to requested sizes and I got a pair of black from them. It's awesome to finally have properly fitting hose!!

Well, I gave a call to the good folks at Hamilton yesterday afternoon (silly me, making personal calls on the clock) and placed an order for $20/3 pair of their kilt socks. They are an amazing bargain, so if it works out I'll have three for less than I would pay otherwise. If not, I'll just pass them on to someone here that they will actually fit and try out some piper hose. Thanks for all the help, guys! I don't mean to be picky- it's just difficult to find hose long enough for such (apparently) long calfs while still being able to get a good roll.

And Cavescout has some nice piper hose that fit me just fine, I am 6' 5".

They are the popcorn top but who cares? They are over my knees and can fold them down at least twice.

    piper hose

I will echo what others have said about Piper hose. I too have long thin legs and can EASILY get a double fold in the piper hose. Here is the link where I got mine:

Echo the recommendation of the piper's hose from scottish lion. white ones are mostly acrylic but the several other colours available are actually predominantly wool (like 70%) and they are only $22US a pair with free shipping over $100. I am 6'5" 270 lbs and I can get mine about 5 inches above my knees when completely unrolled, allowing for two good 2-3 inch roll downs to get below my knees and well over my flashes. And the bubble tops are just too cool.

Also Scotweb has some interesting patterned hose in their country hose area which are very long and also very stretchy for the calves----a bit more expensive in the 40-60 buck range however, but very unique. And if you access scotweb via their xmarks advert (top right corner of every page) you get a 10% discount along with their free shipping.
