My congratulations also for you picking a tough career. Male Nurses find themselves in higher demand than female nurses, so you job searching will be swift.
I sort-of understand the wearing of white for the medical profession - they want to look clean.
But to one who has had to wear white in the uniform arena a few times, and also being assoicated with many swabbies who also had to wear white - they are a pain. White work clothes are really hard to keep clean - OK, it was really hard for me to keep clean.... maybe I'm just a messy kind of guy.
If you make a kilt in white, I would highly suggest a very durable / washable fabric and one which is frequently scotch-guarded.
