It's bearable, but I'd certainly prefer the music without it.
I have some Didgeridoo music that I really enjoy, but I don;t enjoy the sound of it alongside the Pipes and drums.
Aside from that, I am still getting into RANT. I do prefer their previous stuff but I enjoy that the piping skills are so much more evident on RANT.
Now I just need to see them live!

Arlen,
They are really a fun act to see live. They are a must see at any games they play at (sometimes multiple shows).
As for the Didgeridoo...
Jay Atwood is the Didgeridoo player (and a nice fellow to chat with) and he plays the bronze-age Irish horn which appears to be played exactly like the Aboriginal Didgeridoo. It makes a weird sound (as do often the bagpipes). The combination can be quite atmospheric in my opinion.
Cheers

I am really hoping to see them live soon. Diane has seen them three or four times now and she really loved them.
The one thing that really gets me about Atwoodis that hiis aboriginal horn is wrong!
They have found complete remains of the Carynx and it looked nothing like what he has created. And they have had experts rebuild it and play it and it sounded nothing like his.
Basically what he done was get the endpiece and stick it on a digeridoo!
The Archaeologist in me writhes every time I read one of his articles about it!
I'm sorry... I have to go take a drink for medical reasons now...

Yes, I got to see them live at the Houston Highland Games & Celtic Festival earlier in the decade. They were GREAT live! They replaced The (Scottish) Rogues, who had to cancel.

I'm a long time fan of Brother. I think it sounds great, and am glad to have found another band who do it. Today is payday- I'm buying the new Albannach CD and a Wicked Tinkers CD as soon as I get off work.

I like the addition of the Didg. it adds a whole different level and flexibility in combination with the pipe drones. The W.T. use the words Celtic Tribal.... Tribal Celtic (?) to describe their sound. Well thats my 2 cents anyway.

The Salt Lake City Highland Games were also my introduction to the Wicked Tinkers. Seeing them play live was fantastic. I bought a t-shirt and the CD "Bangers for Breakfast" after getting several suggestions at it being the "best for a new listener". It seemed the new CD was selling quite well. Maybe that will be my next purchase.
