I can't recall seeing them there either, but I know they do play in town sometimes. The Williamsburg Scottish Festival seems to have more traditional bands ala Poisoned Dwarf and so it might just be that their style hinders them? I do recall that there have been Celtic Rock bands there, but it may be tough competition for the one non-trad spot...
It is a shame--as I said in my previous post, they are rather talented.

You are very welcome!

Yes, Coyote Run WILL be returning to Grandfather Mountain in 2008 and willl be playing in the Grove with three other bands.
For those who like the Renn Fairesque style of music, they are outstanding. Due to the musicianship in the band, they also go off on tangents with four trombones and a swing beat. They are NOT the "single sound" that many bands acquire accidentally through time.
Best of all, they are WONDERFUL people. I've known them for years now and enjoy their company every time we perform together. Dave, Doug, Catherine and the gang are quite sociable. Feel free to stop-by in the Grove in NC and chat with them. You'll see why their music is a little more "cerebral" than others.

I caught Coyote Run at Grandfather this year. First time I've seen them and I was very impressed. I would agree on the "cerebral" part and I just thought they were fine musicians and they played good music. I've been a musician for a looooong time and I don't hand out compliments lightly. I did get a chance to mention that to 3 of their members and they did seem really appreciative and humble. It was not a typical Celtic Rock thing but I liked it.....and I saw Barley Juice for the first time too and they were also great!

Right, Macsim! I was also impressed with their diversity as I saw three of their sets and each was different. It was great also to see the comradery between Coyote Run, Barley Juice and Mother Grove. They all really rocked! And how about that Catherine!
