Music is good, and playing music is even better. What could be better than playing music whilst kilted ?
And I find wool to not be itchy at all either, though my wife cannot stand to wear it, sadly.
Rock on ! Good luck with the pipes, it is causing me more difficulty than I imagined it would.

However, any drum solo no matter how bad the drummer (I am living proof) will not only get attention but make women scream everytime. Not to mention a bass solo with a little bit of "slap" turns EVERY head in the bar EVERY time... if you're playing in LA it typically gets you a few phone numbers as well.
Lastly, playing any instrument while kilted always gets you a positive reaction from women.

Sorry to get off topic, the point was my piping instructor showed up in the full highland dress and it was awesome. They didn't even make him pay the cover charge.
My instructor mentioned to me some time ago that eventually I would need to get a nice kilt and jacket for performing. He was shocked when I told him I already had a few kilts.

I have the goal of learning the pipes. I have just started learning the fingering on the chanter and scales. When I first got the chanter, I realized I would have to get my finger muscles to react to where the holes are. Didn't put the reed in, just plug the end and know when I have back pressure that my fingers have nailed the holes correctly. After a week of this, I had been aroused by a neighbour's loud outdoor activity. I then put the reed in and practiced the scales for about three hours in the room on their side of my house with the window open of course. I have another neighbour who plays the pipes in a local band. He heard the racket coming from my house and rang me up after I had only been going for fifteen minutes. Complimented me on the effort. I told him what had started the reed in practice, and he had been aroused for the same reason. He asked me to keep up the practice. A short time later I observed my piping neighbour's kitchen window open, and soon I was being accompanied by a full set of Great Highland Bagpipes. We both stopped piping at the same time as we had to prepare for our respective employment. Our disruptive neighbour has been real quiet lately.....
BTW, a great drummer is the key to the band, as he/she controls the pace of the piece. I have had the pleasure of hearing a drummer keep the pace at the level that works for all the instruments involved.. THAT takes real talent.
