I do the full 6 turns in the front, then 2 in the back. I tie to the outside, rather than the front. therefore, one tie wraps around again. The whole thing should not be more than 2-3 inches above the ankle. That maybe where you are having your problem. Too high and gravity & motion will defeat you. I have worn mine all day with no slipage.
