Depending on the person, I may just say sharply, "It's a kilt."

Or, if I'm in a playful mood, I may look down and say, "Oh My God! Where are my pants!"

I've done that, accompanied with spinning around in frenzied circles, staring down at my waist. I ham it up as much as possible.
