I'll second the tall socks idea, Rugby/Football socks from a sports store will do fine. You'll feel just fine once you put on the kilt. Congratulations!

That knee knocking will go away shortly after putting the kilt on.
Which kilt did you order?

Hello to you Rev. Thanks for the reply.
I ordered a Black Watch Economy, belt and pin from SWK, and a sporran from The Frugal Corner since SWK didn't have a black one in stock.
Anyone have thoughts on the color of socks?

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts.
Listen to She Who Must Be Obeyed. You will be fine in the kilt. After you wrap that garment around you, you may not want to take it off. As you may notice, many of us on this forum proudly display ourselves kilted on our avatars. My fat old body is as "pasty" as they get, and I still get the lassies complimenting the kilt as am about town. It is great way to be.

Hello from the Louisville, KY area!
I own a SWK Economy Black Watch and the thing is fierce, you made a good choice for your first kilt.
As for hose (or socks), since you'll be wearing the Black Watch tartan I'd recommend in order of personal preference mind you:
1. A Pair of Lovat Green hose w/red flashes
2. A pair of Khaki Hose w/ red flashes
You can find them at JD Higgins for super cheap. What Price Glory also has the 'military' hose for the BW kilt, but their website states they are roughly 100 orders behind so you may not get them in time for your Fest.

Welcome to the rabble, don't worry about all the other stuff once you put on the kilt the self assurance that it produces will take care of the rest. Enjoy the addiction, been kilted now for over a year and haven't had one negative comment yet while kilted.
