de Chartres is about 5-6 hours to the east of us -- I'm in SW Missouri. I have a couple of buddies who are doing George Rogers Clark's Illinois Regiment in Revy War over in those parts. I need to tag along with them sometime.

I've never been to de Chartres. I'm hoping to take the wife and wee bairn over to Ste. Genevieve sometime and do the whole Illinois Country/Upper Louisiana thing. My wife, being Louisiana French, is interested in seeting it.

To sorta keep this in on topic, The Black Watch garrisoned Ft. de Chartres for a time after the French and Indian War.
