Over here a PC would not be seen at a funeral.An Argyll, black or any coloured tweed, usually green or brown,is the norm.Black ties(not bow ties) and white shirts too,black armbands are not often seen these days.

Personally, I think PC's are too formal for funerals- it's like wearing a tuxedo- unless the person is a direct relation. I'd go with the Argyll or similar.

And of course, I'm sorry for your loss. My clan lost our piper in a motorcycle accident a little over a year ago, so I have a good idea of what you're all going through.

For my stepson's service I wore a PC and all the trimmings, as his Mother asked me to.( quite an eclectic service...dress requested was Hawaiian shirts or kilts!) At other funerals I have worn dark gray tweed or black Argyle jackets and long ties. My condolences.
