			X Kilt first attempt

Okay men, here we go, first attempt at X kilt (will make more - camo for deer stalking and duck shooting).
but this one will do for mucking about, and getting on the joy joice with.

I ahhh, slighty stuffed the over apron measurement, but i think i can pull it off, probably taper the kilt more next time, and choose a different colour
, as the pleats are hard to see in pics, but look good in person
Hats off to the author of the manual (Alan?), awesome to use, easy to follow.

Currently making a black leather sporran and kilt pin to go with the casual kilt.

I'll second the notion that the Xkilts write-up is awesome.

					Tapadh Leat daoine,
 Thanks for fixing that.

Will make the next one soon, (as soon as the wife lets me near her machine again (sewing that is)

 Currently stitching up the sporran.

Cost me 45 New Zealand Dollars, so in real world money, would be approx 18 cents or 3 P...

Good job, better than my first try in my opinion.
 Can see mine here:

I agree the xkilt manual was great... however it could use some optimizing to be better searchable while sewing, lol. Overall great, without the xkilt manual, I would have been lost on a lot of areas.

Well, there are affordable sewing classes in almost every town and sewing machines are going for between $30-$200 (lowest priced I seen was on Overstock.com) and might even could get one from Goodwill if you know what you are looking for (seen one for $10, needed a pedal and a complete one for $30).

You know with all these X kilts being made it kinda makes me wish that I had just a single sewing bone in my body.

Then all you need is materials, time, patience and just go for it. Keep the price of materials low and your loss would be small if you fudge up.

I never even thought about taking up a class. Thanks I will most certainly look it up and I am sure that I can borrow a friends sewing machine instead of buying my own right away.
