The first time I even wanted to wear a kilt was because I saw a guy in a UK at Oktoberfest. I thought "wow, that just looks freakin' cool". My wife agreed, and even found their website for me.
Unfortunately, when she realized I was serious about buying one, the nervousness set in. I think she had the common "kilts are sexy, but I don't want MY man to wear one" reaction.
Fortunately, after we talked about her feelings, she warmed to it pretty quick. Now she is very supportive. She does however get a little peeved about the "power of the kilt" . I swear if she is not literally standing within two feet of me, some woman will strike up a conversation, or just start lifting my kilt. Of course this usually happens at bars, so alcohol is probably a factor .

I met Wife because I was wearing a kilt. Now she gives me grief about skirts and being the one who wears the pants in the family. She has made two XKilts. Wife is pretty d@mn special.

My ex-wife encouraged me to buy my first kilt (we were still married at the time). Now if we take our children, who live with her, somewhere and I'm kilted, she acts like I'm not even there and so do the children. However, my roommate and long-time friend always has positive comments about my kilt. She even helps me pick out the right color shirt and jacket to wear with it.

My wife thought it was great. Now if only I could limit the kilt checks!

Were it up to my wife, I'd have more kilts than every day of the month and all my trousers would be long gone!
To say she loves the kilt would be an understatement.
Were it up to her, every guy on the planet would be kilted!

Upon receiving my first kilt in the mail, (a UK standard) the first thing I did, of course is try it on. My wife came home from work about 20min. after that and got to see me in a kilt for the first time... Her reaction? I dunno -- hard to say because it all happened so fast. But all I can say is that the kilt ended up in a crumpled heap next to the bed within minutes...

I wish. My wife refuses to be seen with me when I wear my kilt. She's embarrassed. I bought my 10 year old son a Sport Kilt matching my own. He will not wear it unless I threaten him, and then my wife steps in. My 16 year old daughter is a little more accepting. She wants a MacGregor tartan ladies kilt of her own, but still cringes when I want to wear mine. Needless to say, I only wear mine on special occasions or when I'm out by myself. Real bummer.

My wife loves me in mine. She has no problem being seen with me in it. Also....she usually answers "the question" for me most times. Normally, she'll retort," Sorry...that departments restricted" or something to that affect. Anyway...at first she wasn't sure, but once I had it on she was sold. Darn good woman I must say.
