According to this, you're to use Elliott

Back in the '60s Gordon Stobo was a good quality highland outfitter on the Royal Mile. A charming gent, I bought a number of sterling silver accouterments from him. This of course has absolutely nothing to do with your question, but sometimes tit-bits of information are amusing (or interesting) in their own right. Now you can set about hunting for an Elliott kilt pin from Gordon Stobo on the Royal Mile.

the tartan ferret or the house of tartan doesn't come up with a clan tartan for Stobo, just the CALEDONIA etc.

A district tartan is always an alternative; if you have traced your line back to Scotland, you can always wear the tartan associated with where they lived. If you reside in a US State or a Canadian province, there is always that option as well.

Stobo seems to be a place near Peebles, in the Borders, in Tweeddale, on the River Tweed. Not sure which county it is in, or if it has a tartan.

Our own Bob C. wears a Borders tartan, and there is a Tweedside tartan as well.

According to Tartans for Me Stobo is associated with Glasgow District Tartan.
