I vote with Caspar and Dr.Mac. Even for country dancing, I keep it on, I just leave the heavy stuff in my bonnet.

No sporran with a sport kilt. You're either working, running or throwing things and the sporran becomes an irritant. No sporran while water skiing (yes, some people do water ski in a kilt). I have a casual sporran and a formal sporran, but I always wear a sporran.

I'm not a huge fan of wearing one all the time, but like most people, I wear one in a formal or public environment. When I'm at home or hanging out at friends' homes, I usually take it off (I think it's the knocking around and having something heavy around my waist that bothers me, especially if I'm just sitting around.)

Not around the house, generally. I wear it to work but leave it off after I get there. I sit so much that it tends to *weigh* on the apron, and reduces air circulation to the relevant parts.
I do what feels practical. This is not a uniform, it's clothing and accessories.

I don't wear one in the ring or when lounging about the house, but pretty much any other time I'm wearing a sporran.

I'm right there with most everyone. I rarely put on a sporran when I'm around the house but I always have it on when I go out. I wear UKs quite a bit and don't have a need for one then. I wore one with my UK original while working a a renn faire and got several comments about how good it looked with the UK
