    dae ya need snaw tyres arr snaw chains oan yur tyres up there?

    I lived in northern Wyoming fur many years...

    never went oinywhere withoot snaw chains...

    The short answer is no you don't. We do not get the winters of old and being by the sea you will be ok(famous last words!). These days, the only problem,with snow, MIGHT be when you cross Rannoch Moor(A82 Glasgow/ Fort William road),but even these days that is rare. Black ice can be a problem in the mornings, but the gritting lorries are very good. As long as you bring your common sense, you will be fine!

    My dear chap,I have no idea! I have been looking to buy a bottle of common sense for most of my 60 something years and have failed, so far, dismally!

    PM, where in "northern Wyoming" did you live? My mother spent 30 + years in Centennial Valley, W of Laramie at 8200 ft -- we just moved her back to San Diego, at 90 y/o the elevation and winters were getting too much for her but it is beautiful country for sure.
