    New York City Tartan

Anyone have a decent picture of a NYC Tartan Kilt? I'm thinking about getting this just want to see it in action. I saw the one Mr. Newsome had done. Any thoughts on this tartan or general banter are welcome.

There are actually a few of us Cavers that go . . well, caving in kilts. I've been the only one not wearing kilt underground until recently. But, for the most part, everyone just wanted to do something different. This happens to be a groups of Cavers, united from several chapters of the NSS that, have some type of Celtic blood in them (be it Irish, Scottish, etc.).

Now, given the nature of our sport, we have to be cautious in selecting the caves we explore. We just can't fathom the idea of spending a decent amount on a kilt then, get it muddy. And cave mud is hard to get out. Most of our trips would be pretty much bunny trips, nothing requiring crawling or sliding through tight passages (border line to a "show cave") .

I'm not sure how clearly it shows, but it's the tartan I'm wearing in my profile pic.

I love this tartan, it's both beautiful and meaningful to me, both as a native of NYC and a WTC survivor.

    NY

Yeah being a native New Yorker...but upstate. I would love a NY State Tartan. I lived in NYC however for awhile and I'll never forget 9/11. Two reasons for getting this tartan. Well and the fact that I love NY.

Not a kilt picture, but it's a skirt in the NYC tartan worn by a native!
