Finished the day's business early at Selkirk court, so let's take a brief look at Selkirk Auld Kirk, built in 1747 and closed in 1861.

The Auld Kirk was the last of a succession of charges built on the site of the Kirk o' the Forest, where William Wallace was appointed Guardian of Scotland, in 1298.
Here in the Murray Aisle of the present building lie the bodies of Franklin D. Roosevelt's maternal ancestors.

This is all that remains today of the Auld Kirk.

Looking through the entrance, with the arch on the left leading into the Murray Aisle where lie Roosevelt's ancestors.
