Great photos. I haven't been to Stanardsville since 1989. It was my second reenactment as a Confederate Infantryman. Your last photo, the gentleman with his back to the camera looks very familiar . If that is who I think it is, its my long time friend Bill Smith.
I now have a dual impression: 1st is my portrayal of a Union Assistant Surgeon; 2nd is my portrayal of a Confederate Assistant Surgeon. If you've never "done" a reenactment, you're gonna get addicted to it. If nothing else, to learn about the period.
If you were "heavily" recruited to join the Union troops. Its because those numbers hurt drastically, from event to event. Its difficult showing up to an event . . they're being 800 Confederate and 200 Union.
