Keep in mind that the weight and fabric type is a huge difference in itself.\
I don't have a problem with the acrylic as acrylic. It's soft and fluffy and feels like an acrylic sweater. It would be great if they could make it a tighter heavier weave, but it is what it is.
The wool is a whole different beast and you will know when you strap it on. Still, it is a contemperary mass produced kilt, and probably should not be compared
to a tank's quality. They each have their place in kilt wearing.
You'll probably find the same sort of levels in accessories, so get used to it.
