I spent the weekend in Holbrook, Arizona, at the fantasy festival sponsored by the library there. Despite the poor attendance, we had a great time (I was doing vocal heraldry for the fighting demo put on by the local SCA group), and I ran into three other kilties among the performers. Like Page, Holbrook is pretty damn rural Arizona, but all four of us got a lot of complements... and after the event, as I was putting gas in my car to return to Flagstaff, a fellow bought me a beer, just because I was kilted!

    Hello All

That was my wife in the first post.

Ronald, I'm not sure about you being the master gunslinger (and no perverted punning on that one)--but we do enjoy reading your posts, especially as we share a love for No Az, the Canyon, the Rez, etc.

Actually, my first kilt was at the very bottom of the pyramid, a SWK "thrifty" (acrylic, velcro, no buckles, etc). I was just wearing that this afternoon out at Crescent Moon Ranch. About six months ago I figured I'd spend $30 and see if I could handle wearing the ancestral garment. More recently, having seen the light of unbifurcated garments (again, refrain your mind from double meanings) I knew I had to have my clan tartan. At the same time, my daughter tells me I must be kilted when officiating her wedding (we raised a smart girl, no?). Reading this forum, I'm convinced that I need something fine to wear in front of a large formal wedding. Thus the order for a hand-sewn McIntosh Hunting. Once the kilt arrives (Lord, give me patience--then make it come soon so the patience will be unnecessary) I will have the top and the bottom of the kilt market covered

Actually, I'm now thinking I need something better than the "thrifty" that I can knockabout in. So maybe a USAK or better SWK...who knows?
