    That's pretty much what I've been thinking as well. He probably saw a tartan somewhere and someone probably just told him that it was his, not truly knowing the true identity of the tartan. I'll keep looking a bit, but odds are one doesn't exist. If anyone stumbles across it let me know, otherwise thanks for the additional validation that this probably is false.

    Ah, but if your friend were only a DRUNKARD, he'd be a "citizen of the world" and entitled to wear any tartan he took a liking to!
