I've found that you dont see many kilts on holiday in Scotland - yes at the rugby/football and the occasional on the streets.... go to a games or wedding and they come out of the wood work. In MHO I think they are still regarded as posh suit component (to be kept for best) and not as daily wear. I think I heard that most blokes north of the border only hire them anyway too... (10x outings and you've paid for it - so why not buy one or two?)
