Thanks for the great pictures gentlemen! Keep them coming!
Currently my winter head wear is my old Army watch cap, but I'm in the process of placing an order for a black rabbit Russian Ushanka, mainly for work (I work security late at night), *but* I think it'd look good with my Newsome Box Pleat (in modern Mackay)

On a related note, I seem to recall earlier this year, when there was a discussion on winter wear that someone mentioned a cap w/ ear flaps they liked that was either from Maine or the Great Lakes region, and for the life of me I cannot find the post, ...I believe it was Ron (Riverkilt) who provided this link, but I'm unsure
Ron, if your reading this could you let me know if that was you?
    Thanks.

Aye, I should also be on her waiting list for a woad-coloured one, having contacted her about it back in January/Feburary earlier this year.

Even though it doesn't get too cold in Arizona compared to many other places in the country and world, everyone has to remember that our blood here is also a lot thinner than some of you cold weather kilties, and we're not as acustomed to what you'd consider cold. That being said though I prefer a 100% wool hat like this on cold days. It definitely keeps my head warm.

Just a quick comment on "correct size" it all really depends on the size of the head. Some have small, delicate skulls, and the 9 1/2 " (24 cm) look fine. For those of us with larger (not fatter) heads, going up to the larger sizes keeps the look in proportion.ith:

I have one of those I picked up while working in Bulgaria a few years back and it is BY FAR the warmest hat I have ever worn. I still have it but I can only wear it on the coldest of days because it is so warm. Most cold days I just wear a watch cap.

    Indeed!
I tend to be working outdoors at 2 or 3 in the morning, with a full nor'eastern blast coming full force off Mt Baker or out of the Fraser Valley from across the border during the winter, and unfortunately my ol' wool watch cap just won't cut it.....my ears feel like they'll drop right off!

I'm looking forward to feeling that warm fur covering my ears
