Some thoughts on TRS
I am somewhat familiar with TRS.Not only from ordering items from them persoaly, but from others whom I HIGHLY respect.
a. An owner of a TRS built "BAKER" (close personal friend & fellow shooter)
b. A VERY GOOD gun maker & friend in IDAHO - Chas. Stark (some day, soon I hope, I will be sending him the "Highland, all steel scots pistol kit from TRS, to make for me.)
c. An EXPERT gun maker in Spokane WA - Pete Sheeron (he was chosen as the "Washington Historical Association's" Gun Maker of the year (2008) A close friend & fellow "Baker" shooter. (he not only helped me build my "Baker" but has built at least 2 for himself ( one is a somewhat rare "militia Musket") + a Rifled British Wall Gun. (all from TRS parts)
1. Yes they can some times be slow. BUT it depends on the items. (as already mentioned, they make the parts as ordered (usually) Pete's "wall Gun parts arrived within a couple of mo.s ( the walnut for the stock (6"x appox 24"x appox 5') took almost as long to find & get)
2. Historically accurate
3. GOOD products ( wether unfinish or finished
4.Good communication
5. $$ is competative (IMHO)

IMHO, REMEMBER the rule about quality custom items PATIENCE
