Anybody try those jacket from this seller on ebay. Price include jacket and vest. The price seem too low to be right but I was wondering if any of you try them.

Once again this is one of those things that looks good, until all details are in. The cost of the jacket and vest is very reasonable, shipping will be just short of $50, and if you check some of the other threads, there often is a fairly stiff import duty. I would check out J. Higgins. They do good work, the jackets are made in house, and any import problems are handled by the company. Only thing is that they make things to exact size, and slightly on the close fitting side. So if you are a 44, order a 46.
Also some of our sponsors, such as USA Kilts, also carry a line of jackets.

					It's selling for ₤99.97 with a ₤25 import fee. That's roughly $225.
But watch out, it's the Gold Bros.

I don't own one, but the thing that is suspiscious to me is that they never say WHERE the jacket is made. They talk about being an Edinburgh firm and they have "trusted suppliers" and it's made from 100% pure new wool, however, they never say WHERE the material is woven and WHERE the jacket is made. They DO emphasize how it's a "Scottish design" and how you'll "feel Scottish" if you wear it.
I would be curious if someone were to ask them the DIRECT question, "Where was the material woven for this jacket and where was the sewing done on this jacket" how they would answer.

I got popped on one of these deals. Bought a PC jacket with a vest. They were made in Pakistan or Afghanistan or by a guy named Stan or something. It came with a tag saying my size, but it didn't even come close to fitting. I have a feeling I'll spend nearly as much getting it altered as I would've going to Kansas City to J. Higgins and buying a nice one in the first place.
Learn from me, young padawan: Don't skimp. Save your pennies for a few more months and get a nice one.

I looked at these whilst I was in Edinburgh just a few weeks ago. They are indeed the infamous Gold Bros, trading as Heritage.
The quality is very poor. The material is rough and they look cheap. In this life you get what you pay for.

Good to know. I've wondered too, as they also hawk kilts. I thought they were too cheap to be of any quality. Chris

Higgins does have some great jackets. I have an ebay PC that was roughly $240. It fits perfectly and looks the part. Be advised, American sizes are notoriously false. If you're going to order any article of clothing, follow their measuring instructions.

When I first wrote this email, I also sent some question to the seller here's the reply I got from the seller.
 Hi,
The wool is Scottish and the jackets are manufactured in the UK for these jackets, unfortunately I'm not sure where in the UK - probably Scotland to be honest although that isn't explicitly stated on the information I have, just "Made in the UK"
 Hope this helps!
 Kind regards, Laura
